Different types of curtains

Among the many options available for covering windows, curtains are some of the most versatile and cost-effective. The curtains come in a unique range of styles, colors, patterns, and textures, making it almost certain that you will find the perfect cut for any room. Unfortunately, the variety of curtains available can also make it difficult to choose what is best. This guide will give you a brief overview of the different types of curtains to find your way to a window cover that suits your needs and style.

Beaded curtains

Beaded curtains are a unique style of curtain that creates a contemporary feel that is best in the room for relaxation or entertainment. They have strings of beads that provide some privacy and belong back to the alternative styles of the 60s and 70s. They can be made from a wide range of materials including glass, acrylic, shell, bamboo, precious stones, glass, and other types of beads.

Blackout

As the name suggests, blackout (or sometimes known as the block) curtains are made of heavy, usually, black-colored materials or fabrics that prevent heat and light from entering the room. This is a great choice for bedrooms and rooms where you want more privacy and protection from light and heat.

French pleat curtains

French Pleat curtains with triple pleated sections clamped to the bottom of the curtain to spread over the top provide a more formal style and good window cover for bedrooms, living rooms, and bedrooms. To use these curtains, you will need to install a specially designed curtain rod that attaches to the folds.

Lace curtains

Although lace curtains do not match other styles when it comes to privacy, they are soft, elegant window coverings. In addition, lace curtains provide more privacy than discovered windows, but also let in natural light.

Panel curtains

The panel curtains are designed to hang straight and have one or more pockets at the top of the curtain where the curtain rod is fed. This is a good choice if you don’t need or want to have curtains all the time. In addition, panel curtains are the most common design choice in modern homes because they provide a contemporary style.

Sheer and Voile

Translucent veils are made of very light material, which normally penetrates natural light. Some homeowners choose to combine thin and veil curtains with other types of window coverings, but these types of curtains can create an elegant feel in any room.

Bookmarked curtains

Finally, the curtains are those that hang directly below and above the window, so the curtain is flush with the surrounding wall. These curtains are called bookmarks because they have loops at the top of the curtain where the bar fills, are economical, and create an informal feel.
